Delivering 1500L & 8500L Sanitary Ribbon Blenders to a Japanese Food Ingredient Manufacturer in 2026


Recently, S&L Group successfully delivered two industrial Horizontal Ribbon Mixers (1,500L and 8,500L capacity) to a prestigious Japanese flavor and fragrance company. These custom-engineered blenders are now operating in the client's production line, primarily used for premium food seasonings and industrial fragrance blending.

[Customer Challenges & Stringent Sanitary Standards ] In the food ingredient and seasoning industry, cross-contamination prevention and effortless cleaning are paramount. To meet the strict Japanese quality control standards, S&L engineered these ribbon blenders strictly in compliance with global food-grade (Sanitary) requirements:

Full Stainless Steel Construction: Total resistance to corrosion and chemical reactions.

Superior Surface Finish: Internal vessel and agitator surfaces are polished to a high mirror finish of Ra ≤ 0.6 μm to prevent powder adherence.

Seamless Welding: All internal welds are fully welded, smooth, and rounded with explicit R-angles, completely eliminating crevices or pits.

Zero Dead-Zone Design: Optimized discharging and sealing components ensuring no material accumulation or blind spots.

FDA-Compliant Seals: All non-metallic sealing materials carry official FDA certification for safe food contact.

[How It Works: Gentle yet Efficient Blending ]

The S&L Horizontal Ribbon Mixer consists of a U-shaped trough, a driven transmission mechanism, and a uniquely engineered double-ribbon agitator shaft.

 

                                     

 

The Outer Ribbon moves the ingredients from both ends toward the center of the vessel.

The Inner Ribbon continuously pushes the material from the center outward to the ends.

This counter-current, multi-dimensional shearing action achieves a highly homogeneous blend in a very short cycle. More importantly, ribbon blending is inherently gentle. It ensures excellent mixing uniformity with minimum heat generation, preserving the physical shape, volatile aromas, and properties of sensitive flavor powders, flour, and milk powder.

[Advanced Option: Pull-Out Shaft for Deep Cleaning ] For applications requiring even more frequent recipe changes or ultra-strict allergen control, S&L offers an advanced Cantilevered / Pull-Out Rotor Design. The entire ribbon agitator shaft can be completely pulled out of the mixer chamber, allowing operators 360-degree, unhindered access for full deep cleaning and validation.
